The adventure continues?? Here I am driving a train. What!?! That?s right, it?s Fat-rageous. Its no fake little train, it?s the full size, diesel-powered, real deal. I?m not just standing there for the photo. I started from a stop, did the clutching, ran through the gears, and brought it to a full stop. I drove it for a ¼ mile or so. The guy is the engineer who was making sure I didn?t fuck up. He is standing close because I don?t speak Hungarian. What can I say, but it was real cool. I took a short video off it too. SO, how does Fatty get to drive a train? I was looking through a Budapest ?To do? guide and they featured a train museum. The picture looked cool, with all sorts of locomotives ? around 100 cars. In the description they stated that visitors could actually drive a train. NO WAY! I had to check it out. They next day I was there. My cost to drive a real train - $5 ? AND I got a certificate suitable for framing. I will hang it next to my minister certification. I also did a train simulation and operated a hand cart. That was already a full day, but that night I went to the Sziget Festival ? one of Europe?s largest music festivals. It?s a week long event that draws in over 500,000 people. The big name singer I saw was Busta Rhymes. He was kinda disappointing. He spent 10 minutes telling this stupid story on what he does when he takes a girl home. Dude, hardly anyone here knows what the hell you are talking about. People where bored, I was bored. He didn?t rock out the party like I thought he would. The other bigger names I saw on the list this week where the Pet Shop Boys and Anthrax. What else?.. Oh, I went to a small village called Szentendre the other day, on the banks of the Danube. It has mixed roots of Jewish, Hungarian, and Serbian culture. We went to lunch and I wanted to try some Serbian food. I had no clue what anything on the menu was, so I did the old standby ? I ordered the Serbian Mixed Platter. I should be called the Swerbian Platter. It was a meat-attack on a plate. The platter put in front of me had a half-pound, spiced, hamburger pattie, a chicken breast, a pork loin, and three big beef and pork sausages ? all served on a bed of tasty French fries! Serbians must like some meat. It was a lot of food, but I ate it all. Tomorrow, I go to an opera in Budapest?s famous Opera House ? built in the 1880s. It?s a spectacular building. I was going to get boxed seats, but the best seats are on the floor. That?s where I?ll be. I tried out the boxed seats on a tour. They are cool too. Sunday, I am off to Rome, so the next update will be in a week or so!
