Fatisimo's Avventure in Italia. Saluti! I just got back from Italy! What a great time. It was one of those spur of the moment getaways with nothing planned that turned out fantastic! Four of us Martin (Germany), Juan Carlos (Colombian), and Annette (Norway) decided to go to Italy for 2 days. We headed for Genova, but that place was way too crazy. You wouldn't believe the amount of scooters buzzing around. Its a big city and there was no place to park for a scooter - let alone a car. Driving around was nuts, so we decided to just grab a lunch and head down the coast to find a small town on the beach. We found nice little restaurant with super cheap, but delicious food. Man, I don't mean to re-open the can of worms, but this Italian food is awesome. Its all fresh, fresh, fresh, and delicious! It was all much chepaer than France, and better too! Juan Carlos discovered that if he spoke spanish with an Italian accent, he was understood. It was crazy. He asked a random guy on the street where to go - Portofino - yes, its a very beautiful place. So off we went. We didn't make it to Portofino, but the town before it - Santa Margharita. We were going to park and look for hotels in the area when this older guy on a moped pulled up and asked if we where looking for a place to stay. We ended up staying in a apartment that he owned - real nice and pretty cheap. He was cool - Mario. He made us coffee and offered to drive us to Portofino the next day. All the Italians we met were nice. We went into a store and didn't know what meat to get. The lady started cutting off samples. We went to a pizzeria and I wanted to take a picture of the guy flipping the dough around. Next thing I knew, I was behind the counter flipping the dough, and we were putting it into the ovens.
The two towns are beautiful. The picture is where we stopped to swim. Lots of money here boys. Many super yachts floating around. Saw a fair number of beautiful women, but not any where a photo was appropriate. Sorry. They had this 'news' show on at 11 called Spicy TG. It was news about naked women. They had interviews where the woman interviewer was totally nude and the guy clothed. Stories about sex.... it was crazy.
Good food, beautiful women, great scenery, friendly people, I give Italy the thumbs!
