On Thursday I went adventuring. You can tell by my hat. On the mountain I'm on, they have a Via Ferrata course. It is assisted rock climbing. They put grips into the rock and clips for your saftey harness. Physically it is not too hard, not the course I did. But man, I was fighting my fear the whole time. If you fell, you wouldn't die. You'd just get pretty fucked up smacking into the rocks. I think you'd hang there until the rescue team came. You move from hold to hold, while moving your saftey lines. The scariest part was a cable bridge. You walk on one cable while holding only one more. I was about 80 feet up. The pic here is of another bridge. It gave me a chance to relax my nerves. To put things into perspective, imagine hooking up a harness and climbing around an 8 story building. The harness does not assist you in any way. Things are cool until you look down!
