Wait, so you're saying that you have a harness, yet it would only kick in after 3-12 feet? That cliff looks pretty sheer, are you sure you'd hit anything on the way down? I'm a bit cornfused Fatty - start from the begining and unfornicate your explanation.

Ok, you are 80 ft up and you are roped to the wall. If you fall - you fall between 3 and 12 ft before the safety rope kicks in. Where is the part where you can't get back up? Can't you simply climb back up the wall like you've been doing?

Bone has it. But I didn't say you couldn't get up, that just was one of my fears while climbing - that I'd slip, bash into the wall, then would not be able to get back on a grip. I hope it was designed so if you did slip, you could reach a grip hanging from your harness. I didn't want to try too much experimentation up there. Maybe next time.
The 12 feet is when you are climbing vertically. The harness clips into a vertical cable, so if you fall at the top of the safety cable, you have about 9 feet of play plus the 3 feet or so on your harness. Otherwise its 3 feet when you clip into a horizontal safety cable.

I really have no use for this business. Kudos to you Fatty, but you know my motto -- Just go AROUND the sumbitch!

Have you been doing your pull-ups lately, Fatty? I'd hate to haul my husky ass up that motherfucker, but if I was there and you did, then so would I. Like you, Fatty, I too have a mild case of acrophobia that would kick in if I were hanging off the side of a cliff.

Hey, what are you gonna do if you gotta go and there's no quick way to the top or bottom?

Maybe he's doing the Bone's, scratch and sniff technique. The Bone likes to keep apprised of his balls condition and frequently checks on their status.
