Quote:
"It's not my dad's fault! He means to call but then he gets lazy."

- Johnny-5 (a.k.a. Little Jack)
Explanation:
This classic dates back a couple years when Johnnybell's Xbox 360 got the "red ring of death." This calamity was covered under the warranty, but required Bells to call Microsoft - an apparent herculean task for the Jobless One. My weekly question of "did you call yet" struck a particular nerve one evening after Bells dropped off his son for a Heroclix tourney - he quickly left the building without a word. The good son ernestly served up the quote above in his father's defense. It was met with uproarious laughter.

Did he ever call?  Is his 360 still F'd up?

About a month after his Xbox broke I started offering him "50 bucks!  I'll give you 50 bucks for your dead box!"

What started as a joke on my part -- and got a "whatever!" from Bells -- slowly became more and more serious.  Finally, after 6 months, I bought his machine for 50 bones.  He got a spanking new machine for Christmas and I had a working machine in just over a week.  Of course I did have to make that phone call.

True story.

In related news, my original 360 first purchased on release day from Costco died a month or so ago.  It was long out of warranty.  $100 to fix?  No thanks (I still have two other machines - including the $50 Bells Special).  So I kept the harddrive (as a spare) and ebayed the broke machine for $30.  Oh well.
