I thought of this yesterday while watching Gandalf during the battle of Minas Tirith. Who knew the old fart had it in him? Though I would give the top honors to Legolas for pulling a Luke Skywalker taking down one of those Oliphants. Best action scene in the entire trilogy.

Yep - I watched it with Johnny and Jack with the girls on Sat. The battle of Minas Tirith was amazing. In my opinion, no other action or battle scene comes close to matching this. The combination of the special effects, all the different (large) creatures, the sweet fighting of Gandalf and Legolas, all rolled into 1 scene. Dudes - what is better???? Even the Rohan princess (sorry I forgot her name) was very believable in her action role - and farkin sweet too.

You know what's funny? There is a guy I work with who hasn't seen any of the LOTR movies. Incredulous, I asked why the hell not. His reply, "I'm not into that witchcraft stuff." Un-fucking believable!

Did you kick his ass?

Bone, please tell me you whupped that guy's ignoramus arse into oblivion. How stupid...

Yeah, I too noticed Gandalf's extreme asswhuppery, and it reminded me of Yoda. Anyone who wants to invest in my pay-per-view event pitting the two of them against each other in a steel-cage match, write a check c/o Swerb.

And I dunno about anyone else, but watching Eowyn don her armor and scream and charge into battle and fuck up orcs and massacre that dragon and Ringwraith... it all raised the hair on my plot (to steal a line from Clockwork Orange)...

Since I read the books I already knew Eowyn would tangle with the Ringwraith. Gandalf's ass whupping machine powers were sweet to watch.

Bone, did you whup his ass? Actually, I'm not all that surprised, I was listening to Howard Stern the other day and he was cutting on LOTR like a big dog along with his monkey like producer Gary. Later on that day I was listening to a sport show where the dude was cutting on how gay LOTR is, and yes if I saw this dude I'd kick his ass.

Actually, I momentarily though about killing him. Although it seemed like the only appropriate response, I opted to ridicule him instead.

Speaking of ass-whupping females in movies, I downloaded and watched "Underworld" over the weekend. Roche, you said you and Bone liked this movie. I cannot understand by what measure this could be true. It was smelling up my living room. The dialogue was pitifully bad, the story uncompelling for the most part, the special effects only average, and the fight coreography uninspired, save for a bit of the end fight, which was the only positive thing I have to say about the movie, as it started off pretty good until it got repetitive. Overall, I give it a 2/5.

Oh, and another gripe, while I'm at it: if you get a (unconvincing) hot chick for the lead character, and you're going to blatantly rip off the Matrix by putting her in skin-tight latex the entire film, you'd better show some goddamn shots of her ass!

Speaking of downloading movies... I recently went to the theater, and before the feature, was subjected to an asinine commercial about the evils of downloading (almost as bad as, "every time you download a movie, God kills a kitten"). Has anyone else seen these? They're ridiculous.

Yeah, boo hoo. I hope that guy fucking chokes on his pinkslip. Whining fucking maggots.

Do you realize the number one search item on the internet this past year was kazaa? That's right, the MPAA and RIAA can cry their greedy little asses off but the citezenry are sticking their fingers up and saying, "Fuck Youuuu!"

As far as Underworld goes, it's not great I agree. However, I'm entertained by gothic vampire shit for some reason. When you take that into consideration, and compare it to a flaming turd like Queen of the Damned, you will find that it has some entertainment value. Underworld, 2.9/5, Queen of the Damned negative 5 - they owe me.

Fuck kazaa. I hate that damn spyware-toting program. Great way to infest your computer. Actually I found a really good program to get rid of spyware. Go to www.safer-networking.org and download SpyBot. I found a bunch of shit on my computer that AdAware didn't catch, plus it supposedly "immunizes" you from infestation.

From: Swerb Entered on: December 31, 2003 3:57 PM
SpyBot is pretty sweet. I was recommended by someone else to use it, too. I figure using both it and AdAware should kill most everything (hopefully). Ross, have you noticed if the "immunization" feature really works?

From: Ross Entered on: December 31, 2003 6:14 PM
So far so good. But I've only been running it for a few days, so far no new shit. I also haven't been hitting any nefarious websites, either, so the data is inconclusive at this juncture.

From: BigFatty Entered on: January 2, 2004 4:40 AM
I found Spybot by chance and have run it for a few months. I do like it. Johnny has it on his computer too. It as worked great for me, but Johnny's high use of questionable websites has maxed its powers. He has to manually delete some things now and then.

From: John Entered on: January 10, 2004 12:18 PM
Hell yeah I do! I have to do constant battle with spyware crap because of the dubious sites I surf. In the end though it's worth it for the nekked chicks.

As for Underworld, I like it but agree it's not a great movie. Like the Bone I'm entertained by this genre and it's a bit of a guilty pleasure for me.
