Notes:

- Panasonic Viera 65" plasma, 1080p. It's the coolest-running plasma I've ever seen. Bright as hell, too (maybe not as bright as Bert's Aquos DLP). I'd share a shot of the TV's picture, but my room is too dark and my camera too rudimentary to get a decent photo.

- Cat in upper right is real. Cat in lower left is not.

- New badass Onkyo receiver - all HDMI.

- Waiting for Xmas sales to buy a Blu-ray player.

- The Mitsubishi Saga is over! Just got a $1k check in the mail from the insurance co. It broke after power outages every time, and my homeowner's policy covers power surges. Smile It's not replacement cost, but at this point, I'll take it.

- Weekend soon to be rendered useless by Brutal Legend.

Swerb - You've gone full 'Crazy Old Lady with Cats'!  At least you matched your Home Theater system properly with your black cat collection.

Excellent!  65-inches... another man amongst us!

Ang & I are still waiting for Bad Movie Night at the Swerbs... once you've finished Brutal Legend of course.

Speaking of Brutal Legend - I am loving this game!  Seeing as that it's fairly forumlaic and repetitive, I can chalk my enjoyment of it up to two (maybe three) factors: 1) Jack Black is awesome, and 2) the environments are awe-inspiring.  Also, it's very humorous, which is Tim Shaefer's key influence.  I don't even particularly care for heavy metal but it almost makes me want to start listening, it meshes with the game so well.  It's an interesting dynamic - it's basic hack 'n slash/beat 'em up at first, with some open-world GTA-style driving and side-missions, but then they throw real time strategy in as the core game mode (as well as the only multiplayer mode).  It works pretty well, though obviously not as well as an out-and-out RTS game.  Somehow, though, for me the fantastic heavy-metal-cover type environments smooth out all the rough edges.  Thumbs!
