Ang & I, along with the newly-married (and now known collectively as) "Rads", got back from our Carribean cruise on Sunday. I've been busy catching up with work at the shop, but I'll highlight some details for those that missed this great time!
- The photo above is from "the Qwest" game that we played in the main lounge (200 or so people I would estimate). We formed 4-5 person teams and got points by bringing up items to the host within the time limit. It started with "a male team member must bring me a gold card" to "a female team member must bring me two pairs of pants" (Rad & I donated our pants for this one, sitting there pantsless for a few awkward moments), "a male with 3 different colored bras on his head" (prompting my mother in law to lose hers, Annie to pull hers out and an anonymous woman to donate hers). The final points were given away for a male to wear a bra and women's shoes and clown-like makeup.
- Anna was great on the cruise. Sure we had constraints and couldn't be as loosy-goosy with her as we would have alone, but she was fine on the flight, slept well and made little fuss. Everyone went ga-ga over her on the cruise (there were only a handful of children on the whole ship).
- They had a Newlywed Game type show one of the nights, Josh and Annie were the young couple and won the show!
- Jeff Jena (a super funny comedian) played one night, found Josh & Annie in the audience and made them half his routine. We were dying. Josh - Have you made him your Facebook Friend yet, like he requested? (He's coming to play at The BOB in GR).
- We ate. A lot. And it was all tasty! By the end of the cruise we were having multiple desserts and going hog wild. I haven't stepped on a scale yet (look for the next ZILLA UPDATE soon).
- There were a lot more seniors on this cruise (Royale Carribean) than there were on our last one (Carnival). I don't know if it was the time of year or cruise line or what. We're thinking going back to Carnival next time (just based on more younger folks).
All for now...
(The four of us have also decided that we'd love to do another cruise
and recruit as many friends and family as we can to go! Tentatively
set for March 2010... who's in!?)

Sounds good, we'd love to go. Right now I can't plan past the next couple of weeks, but it sounds like it would be a good time.

Us going is all dependent on the kid situation too of course (we're trying for kid #2). We have decided that when we do go again, we'd leave Anna with Ang's folks in Florida while we went on the cruise. Though it would drive me a little batty to be away from her for so long.

We're in Jack. We'll blow off our December Hawaii trip and do the cruise. Are we doing a 4,5, or 7 night?

We did a 5 this time (and a 7 last time) ... 7 would be sweet if we can swing it. Time does fly when you're having fun!

I just have to say that Rad's cherub face has to be making Bunky hernier than ever with the excellent makeup job...

Hasn't anyone else patched Zilla's and Rad's story together? They are both on a cruise, take off their pants, next thing you know, Rad is wearing a bra and lady shoes while Zilla applies make-up. Really? It takes Fatlock skills for this deduction? I know there are 'rules' about being in different time zones/ countries and stuff not counting. But DUUUUUUDE!!!! Just because you are on a ship in international waters, with a foreign ship captain, and both of you are married men - that shit is still gay as fuck. It COUNTS!
Ummm, I just might see what other vacation options are open. Not sure if I am down with your Butt Pirates of the Caribbean on the 'Fun Ship'

It's gotten me so hernie, I can't even talk about it... I can feel my cheeks blushing as I type...
Fatty, are you suggesting that Jack and Rad were suffering from gender euphoria? Perhaps they were "Wooooooo F'd up"?
Zilla, you and Rad weren't urinating in shoes later that evening by any chance?

Damn Bunky, you have an incredible command of Jackassery lore. Color me impressed.

I believe that knowledge was gained from a coversation with Zilla about San Francisco. Somehow the discussion about the city took a dark turn and ended with Fatty urinating in shoes and instructions to look up Gender Euphoria.

Those allegations are outrageous, egregious, and preposterous! Do you still have evidence of said act? If you don't have the wet shoes, you are going to lose.

Capricious and arbitrary!

I just wanted to mention how grateful I was that my wife posted this picture on facebook and Jack was considerate enough to share it here. I'm glad I can make everyone hernie.
I know Annie and I want to go on the 2010 cruise as well. In fact I can hardly imagine wanting to take any other kind of vacation after experiencing the sweetness that is cruise ship life.

Swerb? Are you and Stacy game? Can you two make a cruise!? I talked to Fatty and sounds like he and 'Leenda are in!

Oh no. Fatty's in, we may have to rethink our plans! I guess I will just be packing flip flops since they rinse off easy!
I confirmed with Patrick that last night that we are in! We are going to see if we can get some of our West Coast friends to go as well.

His Badness is in! I just talked to Bad Andy and he and his wife Jess are looking forward to joining us! Good Lord! This is gonna be sweet!

Not to piss on Zilla's Twinkie, but the Fatty's are in only if baby (to be named later) causes no interference. Which, if (to be named later) happens this year, would eliminate us from the cruise.
I know.... F the Fatz!

Fatty - I'm cornfused. Is Melinda expecting?
As for the cruise: It sounds like an F of a lot of fun, but put us in the maybe camp. I'm currently waiting to see how the situation at work is going to shake out - lots of buyouts and reassignments are happening (the newspaper biz is in the toilet, you may have heard) and I'm not sure if I need to hang on and weather the storm, or bail out. I feel like I'm on shaky ground and am suffering fluctuating degrees of anxiety right now. Of course, I'm probably buying a new TV, so that doesn't help the financial-stability situation at all.

The Fatty Fam status is - Melinda would like to be expecting. Fatty is not on that same ship yet. But, this year would be the time to start, I reluctantly agree. So, to me the cruise is a probably not when I do all the baby time-table planning.
