Bert's Badass Ex-Auto Bashed by Braindead Bimbo - news at 11

The picture doesn't make it look too bad, but if you click on it, you'll see the detail... and it's still not awful, but considering how much in love with this vehicle I am (thanks, Bert!), it's still distressing. The fender will surely need to be replaced, and probably the bumper, too.

The story: driving down a one-way, two-lane street in downtown GR... girl in white Bonneville in left lane in front of me turns on right turn signal, moves into right lane, as if slowing down to park. Swerb accelerates to pass her. Then, suddenly, white Bonneville inexplicably veers into left lane. Swerb's brakes lock up, and she sideswipes him, nearly pushing the dear Acura into a parked car. Insurance will cover it, and I won't have to pay the deductible because it's her fault, but still, I have the hassle of taking it in to be fixed, not to mention having to drive a crappy-ass rental car (that surely lacks the acceleration abilities Swerb has become accustomed to) for who knows how long. Yell

GodDAMNit!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Well, at least it won't cost you anything.   I believe that if that happened to me in Illinois, I'd have to pay the deductible no matter what.

Hey.. Who the hell is this new guy Swerb???  Does anyone know him?? Wink

Sorry to hear about your bumper humper (or thumper)... but of course here it is actually a fender bender.  When you go to the body shop, tell the guy the accident knocked off your large lightening bolt painted on both sides (you could do flames too, but I think lightening bolts where standard for that year's make and model).

Or......................  and Jack, this is for you!

Have them paint an 'S' on the doors, hood, and roof.  So, next time when you go screaming around town like a Swerb outa hell, people will point and shout 'Man, look at that S-car go!!!'

HAHAHAHHA.... Man, I new that joke would work its way into real life someday.  It just took 15 years.  Worth-it!!!

This will mostly appeal to Ross, but it is a sweet idea!  The Zipcar.  It is in a few  big citiies and sprinkled throughout neighborhoods, but you can instantly rent a car by the hour, walk to the car, hop in, and use it as you need.  Plus, gas and insurance is included.  It is cheaper than a cab, for sure!

Here is the site: http://www.zipcar.com/

And here is the CNN video story: http://edition.cnn.com/video/#/video/business/2007/08/02/b2.disruptors.zipcar.cnn?iref=videosearch

It'd be an even cooler idea if they were all green cars.

That's really cool!  I wish I would have known about that a few years back... I'm kind of nearing the point where I need to own two cars again, since there are children involved.  But that's a really good idea.

Green cars???? Shit ninja... for $12 you can drive around in a BMW for an hour and pretend you're the shit.  Or, for $10, grab a Mini Cooper and be a complete arse and drive it like a rented go-kart (hey it is one isn't it!).  Maybe do a Bourne Identity re-inactment.

Hell for Ross, if he needs to run some errands and Heather needs the car with the Baby seat, I can see him grabbing the BWM for a few hours.  It looks like if you need a day trip to GR, it is cheaper to drive one of these than to pay for 2 tanks of gas in your car!  I wish they had some in Budapest!
