Yes friends, Pearl Jam show #1 has just ended and I ended up with one of Mike McCready's guitar picks. If you're familiar with their first album, Ten, he had just finished playing "Porch", at the end of their first set. I was sitting second row on Stone's (rhythm guitarist) side, but as Mike walked off he threw this down and I managed to step on it and beat away would-be pick pirates. A worthy memento of a great show.     I also got some good pics that I'll post later.

Sweet! You're not a fanboy until you have a guitar pick. And second row! Apparently, you're moving up in the Ten Club heirarchy. Do you have a set list?

Of course.  It's nice, pearljam.com is becoming a real website, they post all the sets, have links to download the shows, and even have a song catalog complete with lyrics!  As for seats, they have changed the policy a bit in my favor.  In the past, your fanclub number still dictated your seats, but you were allocated into "blocks" of fanclub numbers and within that block, seats were first-come-first-served.  So if I had been first in line at the will-call window in the past, I would have had first row every time (they guy sitting behind me said he always used to).  I was also sitting next to a chick that I recognized as usually being in front of me at other shows.  But now it's strictly seniority based.  So no guarantees, but yeah, seats are good for the Bert these days.

Have you music guys checked out CapnMarvel's Rock Album Review Bonanza?  He's a fairly in depth and entertaining critic that reviews artists of all rock music genres.  He's in the middle of reviewing all of Prince's work -- that's how I found him -- but I notice he has a huge page on Pearl Jam (and many others too).  Check it! http://www.capnmusic.org/

Very cool.  That's a lot of readin' though. Show last night was even better.  I was 2nd row but this time in front of Mike McCready.  Took Heather's cousin David who is also a big fan, he managed to get one of Mike's picks too.  I got some great pics, will post later.

Yes, Prince was on American Idol last night.  My phone rang off the HOOK afterwards!  It was pretty sweet: Only Prince gets away with playing on the show and not having to duet with or interact in any way with "the kids."  He did his two songs, turned around and walked off the stage in his George-Jefferson-Pimpin'-Swagger he does, leaving his back to Ryan Seacrest.

Swerb: Regarding your Pearl Jam blog entry of late, did you also notice in the Storytellers episode that he talks about songs featuring someone behind the wheel?  Pretty funny.

I was looking through the photo album and noticed I hadn't seen this, surprise, surprise. I just wanted to say that's pretty damn cool you were able to get that. It's like catching a home run ball.
