Hilarious!!! I love it. None of them look like Johnny if you ask me, but (A) is a huge punk, that much is for certain. Also, I die laughing every time I see (C), it looks like some other really chumpy dude. John, you may claim that you don't photograph well, but this HAS to be your worst picture ever. Don't feel bad, I posted one of my most embarassing ones in the album a while back, so you're not the only one.

Ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. Hopefully the Zone will enable Roche to return to the glory days represented by picture B.

I can imagine all three of these dudes shopping at Rookies:
(A) Still asks when we're gonna get some more POGs in. He won't take "not in the foreseeable future" as an answer. He considers Pokemon something that "the bigger kids" collect.
(B) Loves to come in, gawk at sexy-women-comics, and then blows his $2.00 on a pack of basketball cards. This is quickly followed with, "Will you buy this Stacy Augmon card from me?"
(C) My biggest Dungeons & Dragons customer. He buys everything D&D. He smells kinda funky, but he's quiet and spends so I like him.

Actually I think at the time (B) was taken, he was beyond the sexy women comics. It was around this time that Will, Willl's Brother, Tony and I would all work out over at his place (yes John did have a bachelor pad at one point for all of about 5 seconds) and peruse stack upon stack of porn while between sets on the bench press. To this day, I don't know how women he brought back there didn't freak out. I mean, it was EVERYWHERE...

AH the Roche Pad - How come the women didn't freak-out?! At times a visitor would experience this senario..... Come in throught the slider and squeeze around the weight bench in the living room. You notice there are fast food bags from Burger King, Wendys, and Checkers everywhere. In the kitchen, there are more food bags, and hundreds of empty beer bottles. Scattered throughout the apartment are small stacks of porn, but they are mainly concentrated around the weight bench and the bedroom.
Roche must of had the magic mojo like none of us had!

I remember asking him specifically about Melissa, when she stayed over the first time, and apparently she did make note of his collection. I don't even think he totally tried to hide it all. But yeah, how she - or anyone else - didn't freak out is beyond me. I mean, a girl can expect an average guy to have SOME porn in the house - not necessarily in plain sight, of course. But we're talking about far more than an average supply.
Roche, care to clarify?

A subject which has always confounded me as well.

On behalf of Roche, I apologize for the delayed response. He's catching up on some porn. It's a regular Porn-A-Thon over there ever since his wife took off on the cruise last week.

In response to Ross's inquiry, believe it or not Melissa was never offended by my porn collection. Over the years she has made few comments related to this subject. When asked, she has replied, "I could care less". I too agree this is odd, however I don't mind her apathy in this subject. To address Will's comment as well, there were other girls over besides Melissa in that era, (Melissa was the only one I cared about) and I'm sure some may have been offended, however I did not remotely care if they were. I guess that sufficiently answers Fatty and Johnson's questions.

If y'all don't know, I work in a record store a coupla days a week...
A) "You got any Gerardo?" (You know, "Rico Suave")
B) "You got any Barry White?"
C) "You got any Matchbox 20?"
By the way, I think most of us envy Melissa's open-mindedness to all things porno-riffic.

Took me a second to get that, but that is hilarious. Especially offensive is that John's current tastes as dictated by his more recent picture shows him leaning toward Matchbox 20.
I really wish I could remember any music-related conversations from the time that A) was taken. I know that John and Shemp listened to music a lot more than I did but I just can't remember what. It was probably rap at the time, which got phased out over the next few years, I think...

That would be correct Bert, that is what we listened to at the time. Ranard had a large influence in this respect. Oh, and for the record, I hate Matchbox 20.

On the music-related tangent:
I remember back in 5th grade or so, in music class the students were encouraged to bring a tape to play to the class. When it came to my turn, I brought in Isaac Hayes. Thinking it was a sweet song, I was caught off guard when one of my buddies asked, "isn't that black music?" (meant to be an insult I guess). This left me a bit speechless at the time because I grew up listening to a variety of popular music -- never classifying it as black or white. Looking back I can see that my Isaac Hayes couldn't compete with AC/DC for coolness to a 10 year-old (this obviously before he was Chef on "South Park").

Zilla, let it be known that if Barry White is the soundtrack to makin' smooove love, Isaac Hayes is the musical translation of sweaty, borderline-illegal fornication. Not quite appropriate for a 5th grade classroom, but you do have my approval choosing Isaac over AC/DC, cuz the man is a genius.

Swerb - I'm looking for Katrina and the Waves in vinyl. Can you help me out? Man she was hot. You still work at Sam Goode?
