For you out-of-towners that might have missed Sunday's paper.

I caught that too... Our own Swerb is now a comic character! Only having a matching pet monkey sidekick could make him sweeter now!

Jack: Monkey!!!!!!!!

Heh... I laughed pretty hard when the artist drew this. But Pat, you didn't show the whole drawing, which had John Douglas on a jackhammer. THAT was funny.

Here are my official Oscar picks, by the way:

Be sure to read my former professor Andrew Jefchak's picks. He's quite witty.

That is hilarious, Swerb.

And I also like your picks. I only hope that guilt over Scorsese doesn't rob Clint of at least one of the big Oscars.

As for Jefchak, I assume you're referring to this:

Original Score: "Finding Neverland." Jan Kaczmarek's music is beautiful enough, but I was leaning toward "The Passion of the Christ" until my audio memory brought back the sounds of bones cracking and flesh ripping, thereby ruining some work by the string section.

Hahaha!

This new trailer for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is fucking sweet! Go here, click on the teaser for the movie. You'll have to watch that teaser we've all seen already, and sit through a commercial or two, and then the complete trailer will automatically follow. (I don't know why it works this way, but it's worth the hassle.) It could be the most clever movie trailer ever:

Good lord, that's so sweet I can barely stand it! I had no idea it was coming so soon, too!

Have you guys seen the Revenge of the Sith spoiler page that is circulating around the internets? It has ridiculous sweet screen shots and explanations.

Be warned, major spoilers. Probably nothing you didn't allready know but all the same, I think you should be warned. Here it is:

Screw you for tempting me! This is my last chance to not know squat before seeing the movie, and I'm going in virgin style if I can help it.

MDB for both director and picture, I can't believe it. I"m very pleased. Now I have to go watch it again to revel in the glory.

Yeah, I thought for sure the Academy would go all conservative and boring and let The Aviator win... I feel bad for Scorsese because he still doesn't have an Oscar, but there's no debating what the best movie of the year is. Besides, it's not Clint's fault that the Academy stiffed Scorsese for Raging Bull and a bunch of other nominations for more deserving films.

Really, no surprises this year, though. I correctly picked three of the four acting awards, both screenplays and best picture. Out of the 16 picks I made above, I got 10 right. Not too shabby, if you ask me.

Well, if you ask a teacher, that's 62.5%, or a D. :)

I probably did worse though - I was sure that MDB wouldn't win for both director and picture, and I wasn't confident about the acting awards (except bestor actor). Gotta say I'm pretty damn happy about the outcome though.
