For those of you who haven't visited the Swerb household, this is my dog, Nikki. I just bought a new camera, and was experimenting with the flash, with the dog as my subject. She apparently didn't like this flash setting... needless to say, I found the result highly amusing. Note the little bit of tongue sticking out of her mouth.

Cute little sucker. Since we are talking about animals, here's a sweet vid about eternal enemies: Lion vs Hyena.     The first half is a little boring. Hyenas outnumber the lions and are fucking with them. Next thing you know the audio track changes to Prodigy's "Smack my Bitch Up" and a couple of male lions unleash a can of serious whup-ass. Bone, that is easily one of the sweetest videos I have ever seen. I have rarely seen anything more satisfying than those two clips of the lions decimating some heyna ass. Awesome.

Agreed, Bert - that second video is totally fucked. What's slightly disturbing is the fact that I was bothered more when the lion died. If a guy is stupid enough to be fucking around with an animal like that, Siegfried-and-Roy style, he deserves to be mauled or killed. The lion just doesn't know any better, and that's where my sympathies lie. Reminds me, did anyone else catch any of the Planet Earth series on Discovery? The "great plains" episode had footage of a pride of lions taking down an elephant. Absolutely amazing...

I haven't gotten that far yet - I downloaded all 11 episodes (the BBC versions - David Attenborough's narration cannot be improved upon, even by Ripley, thankyouverymuch) in high-def and have watched the first 3 or so.  They are excellent, though.
