As promised, here is a picture of the new kitchen computer. Heather uses it to stay up-to-date on her version of Jackassery, which is dedicated to wedding bullshit. I also tacked up a sweet Sin City poster I just got off Ebay.

Which is sweeter? A computer in the kitchen or an xbox in the shitter?

That's like asking which is greater: 100% or 100%. Maximum sweetness in either case.

Though I have been toying with putting a computer in the shitter: I found an old laptop (which is on its last legs and is totally non-mobile - no working battery, finnicky network plug, etc) and got it running. Now the problem is where to put it? It's slow (450Mhz, 11 GB drive, but has 512MB of RAM) and heavy (at least 10 lbs) but has a nice 15" LCD screen. So the obvious thing to do is put it in a room that doesn't have a computer: that leaves the two bathrooms. Ideally, I'd like to mount the LCD in a wall or cabinet and control the thing via wireless keyboard and mouse but I can't find a good spot for such a project. But rest assured - I will not leave any computing power in my house untapped for long!

That counter top is sweet though. Is it marble?

It's granite, yeah. The color is called "Uba Tuba" or some such ridiculous nonsense. It's black with some greenish flecks in it.

Just found a link to it:

Bert, just save yourself the time spent resurrecting that tired old laptop, and install a toilet in your office. Then, turn the bathroom into strictly a jackoff center - network another computer in there, install a cupboard loaded with kleenex and vaseline, and start wailing away!
