One I had today:

Shame on you America: the only country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment we also have childrens without parents and they need homes - yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, raising...... $57 million! 99% of people won't have the guts to copy and repost this.

Shame on you America for being so charitable!  If only the people of the USA could be more selfish!

Wow.

This is why I'm not sure keeping in contact with people you barely know or once-knew is such a good idea.  And hell, I filter out most obnoxious people from my feed, but every once in a while Heather will tell me about something one of her old friends or acquaintances says that is absolutely batshit insane, not to mention poorly worded and spelled to the point where you wonder how they even had the ability to type it in the first place, and I'll just go off about how can she tolerate such stupid shit appearing on her Facebook page?  I, for one, cannot.

I particularly love the ones that end "99% of people won't have the guts to copy and repost this" or something similar.  Guts for posting it?  Maybe I think you're a dumbass for posting it to start with, how about that?

And enough with "I'm with Coco" posts showing support for Conan O-Brien.  I think the final price NBC is paying him and his staff to NOT work is like $45 million.  I ain't supportin' shit!

I was just going to say that Jack. You should reply with something like "you're right - I don't have the guts to post something this crazy because people MIGHT ACTUALLY THINK I'M CRAZY."

I saw on FB that Bad Andy was liking 'Modern Family'.  We just watched the first 2 episodes.  So far, it gets the thumbs!  It is really funny.  Anyone else watch it?  If so, how come you didn't say anything - beeyotch!

I have heard nothing but great things about it, but I've been waiting for the season to finish so I can just download and watch them all at once.

Modern Family - Hell yeah!  Great stuff!  We're all up to date on that one.

We also just caught up on The Big Bang Theory - that's some fun stuff too.  Above average and I love the comic/science/nerd references.  I was glad that they finally added the Comic Book Store as one of their regular set pieces.

Spartacus - We watched the first couple shows and although it's a bit cheesy with over-the-top violence that bites from 300 -- it also features a bit of nudity -- including XENA, HELLO! -- that we all think it'll grow on us.  It's not ROME, but fun so far.

Big Love - Love the 4th season so far.  Excellent show really.  Superbly cast.  Fun characters.

Lost - My favorite.  I can't get enough of this confusingly sweet show!

Heroes and Smallville?  Been out for a couple years.  FlashForward?  Gave up after 6 episodes or so.  V?  Thought the first show sucked and didn't finish the first 4 eps.  Haven't watched Caprica yet (just the pilot last summer that left me less than excited), but I'll give it a shot when a few eps are out.  Can't wait for Nurse Jackie to return - great, fun show!

Stankville had it's JSA episode - you should have watched it, Zills.  It featured HawkStank, Dr. Stank (Fate), Martian Stankhunter, and Stank(star)girl.

It didn't have Flash or Green Lantern but did make reference to some of the others, like Wildcat.  I'm guessing licensing issues.

What drives me nuts about Stankville for the past couple of seasons is that they always have this amped-up stupid overly-dramatic mood music, making every conversation between characters seem more sinister and confrontational than it has any right to be.  This episode was no exception.

Anyway, I agree about Lost.  It's my favorite.

LOST SPOILER ALERT!

I told you (no I didn't but I said it to others) that Jacob's nemesis was Smokey!  I told you!

I also agree that Heroes sucks.  I quit watching after the first few episodes this season.  It is just too slow and boring.  That slow approach worked for the first season as we were being introduced to the characters and learning about their powers as they were, but at this point, we basically want a superhero teamup.  But they don't have the will or the money do to it, so f 'em.  I'm out!

Oh, what about Caprica?  Anyone watching?  I haven't watched the two most recent ones but I have them Tivo'd.  I'm planning to watch them on the train since H doesn't seem to care.  But actually I thought the pilot was very promising and I'm definitely looking forward to the series.

And I forgot to add my commentary re: Spartacus.  It sucks, but it has some sweet nudity, so I keep watching.  Though nothing so far as good as the first episode.  It's really trying too hard to mix 300 and Rome, and it's as good as neither one.

I have to say that Stankicus: Blood and Stank is losing its lustre for me - not enough nudity, not a very compelling drama.  Who cares about Crixus the Barbarian being in love with a slave?  He's an asshole!  Xena's teets are not enough to hold my attention.  I'll keep at it for a couple more episodes, but if it doesn't get more interesting soon, I'M OUT!

From: Jackzilla Entered on: February 16, 2010 3:43 PM

Spartacus:  Yeah, we watched episode 3 over the weekend (in high-def, no less, in case Xena's teets made an appearance... they almost did):  Meh.  Lots of glistening man skin, not enough nekkid womenz.  I'll give it a little longer...

Big Love:  Rocks!

Lost:  Can't wait for tonight's!

Modern Family - 'Moon Landing'  HAHAHAHA!  Wait til you see the explaination.

From: Ross Entered on: February 21, 2010 3:41 PM

The latest episode of Stankicus was better than the last few. I still hate most of the characters on the show, including almost all the gladiators - especially Crixus, but the end battle was pretty darned cool.  It bought itself a few episode reprieve from me.  What it really needs, besides a "cock reduction" - both literally and figuratively - is more characters and subplots.  It all feels too...constrained.

Also, I continue to be impressed by Caprica.  It's not BSG, but it's well done.

Smallville: turdier than ever but I'm like a hamster on a wheel and keep watching.

Movies-wise, Heather and I just watched Law Abiding Citizen and it's a decent, B+ thriller, albeit implausible at times.  Similar in some ways to some excellent novels I recently read called Daemon and Freedom (TM), but not nearly as good.  Still worth watching IMO.

We decided that Spartacus: Blood & Sand should be remained Spartacus: Cock & Tits.  There definitely needs to be a cock reduction; and I could go without seeing a man-on-man buggering.

Unfortunately I fell asleep as the latest one started but Ang & the Roches all liked it.  I'll have to catch up on it now that I caught up on sleep.

Haven't watched Caprica yet (since the pilot) but I'm saving some up for a marathon.

'LOST' IS SWEET AS FUCK!

From: Ross Entered on: March 14, 2010 6:24 PM

Spartacus spoilers:

Just watched the latest episode, and I'm glad I kept watching.  Aside from the copious nudity, which is always welcome (aside from the horse-cock), the scene where Spartacus beats the shit out of Crixus is so sweet that I had to watch it multiple times, relishing every moment of it.  I mean it when I say it was one of the most satisfying things I can remember watching in recent times.

We just watched it with the Roches last night and agree.  It's a fun series -- though none of us needed to view the so-called "horse-cock" either.

  • Spartacus has moved up into one of our favorite shows.  Last week's episode had more terts in it than any show I've ever seen!  And less you be confused, it would be fun without the terts -- the terts are just the "cherry on top" so to speak.
  • Justified on FX with Timothy Olyphant (Deadwood).  Two episodes in and it's sweet!  Bells and I dig his Brand of Justice.
  • Lost?  Continues to be awesome.  The best show on TV and it's so sad that it has to end.  But it looks to be winding down way sweeter than BSG did.  Who isn't watching this series?  You're a goddamn fool!

From: Ross Entered on: March 28, 2010 2:18 PM

I agree on all counts.  I haven't watched the latest Justified but the pilot was enough to hook me.  Love the Bullock.

And I was just saying the same about Lost re: BSG.  Whereas BSG got crappier at the end, leading up to a not-too-satisfying finale, Lost is getting better and better.  Last week's was off the hook sweet!
