This is SUPER sweet!  I got a tub of GI Joe toys I've held on to for far too long.  This is post 12-inch dolls... the 3 inch action figures... many before the famed swivel action battle grip!!  Plus I got some vehicles and crap.  I thought about selling them last year but ran out of time.  Hmmm.... A new movie coming out will have geeks wishing they had their toys back!!!  Now they are older and have more money than sense!  Don't think I'll retire off of my collection, everything is loose.  But I damn will make a couple hundred dollars! Yes, I have Snake-Eyes and Scarlett (pre-swivel).  Plus the generic Grunt amongst many more.

So Jack..... In your experience, when is the best time to sell?  I am thinking a week or two before the movie comes out.  That way all the hype is generated, people can't wait for the movie and they are eager to buy this stuff.  After the movie... well there is a good chance this movie will tank (hey, thats funny!), so I think the best bet is in the beginning. What are your thoughts?

As soon as the movie hype starts (6 months before release) is probably the best time.  People get excited, want to buy stuff, yet the new movie-related stuff isn't out yet.  Plus, as you said, it could tank and you'd be happy to have the stuff gone in that case! I did that with my Star Wars toys just before Episode 1 came out and made a mint!

Man, Snake-Eyes is my absolute favorite. That motherfucker doesn't say shit but gets the job done. Ray Park is perfect  because Darth maul doesn't say shit either except some shit about revenge.

Why do they continue to make movies based on crap.  Is nostalgia really that powerful?  Yes, I was all about Speed Racer as a kid.  But I was 8!  I am a little past it now. But, I did like the movie look - very interesting.  But me watching it - Hell no.  Go Speed Racer, Go Speed Racer...... Go Speed Racer Gooooooooooooo..... away.

They have to feed off our nostalgia. Speaking of which, I think they could make a killer "Star Blazers" movie. Either live action or CG. Whose up for it??

First pics of Ray Park as Snake Eyes.  One part cool, one part lame, if you ask me.  While it's pretty sweet to see this, aren't rubber muscle suits a bit overused these days?  Is it really necessary? Also, doesn't Snake Eyes carry an Uzi, not a smaller handgun like this one?
