Jenny McCarthy and Oprah are both retarded

I don't know how many of you have heard about Jenny McCarthy running around touting a bunch of nonsense about vaccines causing her son to become autistic. Not only is she doing that, she now claims to have cured him using some dubious-at-best nutritional schemes.
Now, Jenny McCarthy is a mom and is understandably very concerned about the welfare of her children, and she is entitled to believe whatever nonsense she wishes. But what really gets my knickers in a knot is that Oprah gives this woman a forum to spout absolute nonsense about the safety of vaccines, even though the evidence strongly indicates that vaccines are on the whole very safe and do not cause autism or other neurological disorders. As a result, millions of credulous Oprah fans basically got the okay from Oprah (who already tells them what to read, what to buy, what celebrities to pay attention to, etc.) to not vaccinate their children. This is negligence of the highest order, if you ask me. This could literally cause hundreds or thousands of preventable disesases or even deaths!
I've long railed against the almost cult-like grip that Oprah seems to have on her fans - every once in a while Kathleen (Special K in the Jackassery archives) will report some new agenda that Oprah is stirring up the ranks about. If it's just a book to read, that's one thing, but when she's claiming that you have to wash your sheets every day because of parasites or how your kitchen sink is a cesspool that contaminates your entire kitchen, I can't help but discount everything that comes from that damn show. Plus, that's Tom Cruise's forum of choice for going Tom Cruise Crazy, apparently.
So in conclusion:
- Vaccinate your kids
- Don't watch Oprah
- Ridicule anyone who does mercilessly
- Disregard anything Jenny McCarthy-related, except her old Playboy pics (NSFW), which to be fair are quite nice
- Tom Cruise is still crazy

Tom Cruise is now an ordained minister and can perform at wedding functions because he has reached the highest level of Scientology, AKA Batshit-Crazy.
As far as the argument for vaccines. That's just about as stupid as the argument for not wearing your seatbelts. I knew this guy who knew this guy who knew this guy who got trapped in his car by his seatbelt and then the car blew up, I'm never going to wear my seatbelt.
Dumbass.

I see that Tommy C and I have something more in common than our handsome, good looks! He is a little bit country, I am a little bit rock n roll. He is a little bit crazy, I am a little bit well rooted in reality.
Jenny McCarthy sets me off again!!! Too bad she is not getting me off. She is still smoking hot in her advancing years (Late 30s!). I abhor it when famous people are listened to as authorities on various subjects solely because of their celebrity. How is it Jenny is an authority??? She did a Google search, bought some snake oil, then wrote a book, which was published only because she sold her human dignity to have her nude, nubile body presented to horny perverts (as myself) for masturbation? Nice pedigree. F Her, F Clooney, F Cruise, F Joile, and F the media that parades them around! I am going to coin a word for this....
Celebriganda - Ignorance peddled by celebrities for the sole purpose of getting media attention and/or other personal gains.

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the correlation of childhood vaccines and the occurrence of autism in children. Part of this is due to a clinical study that was done in the late nineties that suggested a relationship. It was a very poor study design that only included 12 children. In fact, 10 of the 13 researchers involved, retracted the findings a few years ago because they were not able to establish a link.
Part of this ignorance is due the fact that autism is usually diagnosed around the time the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shot is given. Autism is similar to retardation (example: Jack's degree of tardness to that of the breadstick lady) in that the disorder can vary from mild to extreme. From what I have read about Jenny McCarthy's son, I can only assume her son has a higher functioning level than most autistic children out there. She is one of the fortunate one's who are able to control many of the symptoms with a special diet and medications. Unfortunately, this is not true for the norm.
I agree with Ross, the vaccine argument is pure bullshit. Individuals in third-world countries, who are not fortunate enough to have access to vaccines, die everyday due to preventable diseases. I have been in healthcare for over ten years, and my husband is a pharmacist. If there was any credible medical evidence out there linking vaccines to autism, we never would have exposed our children to them.
Fatty, Tom C. could never rock the Captain America suit the way you do!

It was nothing against the fact that he was an ordained minister. I was mearly toughing on the fact that Tom Cruise is crazy as batshit and anyone who allows themselves to be joined in marriage by THAT man is crazy as batshit as well.

You think a marriage joined by Fatty is any better? Part of the reason I got my ministry was for pure shock value. People simply cannot believe that I am one... they say 'but you are not a real minister' - Sure I am, I am ordained by the church. This usually floors them. But they still try to figure it all out - thats not a real church - Sure is, recognized around the world. But I usually get - but a REAL minister goes to school for it. No, just some of them do. But you are not the same as MY minister. Bingo - different church, different beliefs, different system. Your minister is not a priest is s/he (or visa versa)? Hell, I should say that their ministers only study for a few years in school (if they do) but my ministry took a lifetime to develop.
Hey, I should make better use of the photo of me and my Benedictine Monk Buddy (everyone should have one!) That would really cornfuse some folks to what I really am about. Oh, and the Fatty Crimson Guard Photo - thanks Jack.
