Flight of the Concords
Entered on: October 25, 2007 7:43 AM by NickNick
I just caught them on a re-airing of Conan O'Brian. Frickin' hilarious. They sang their ode to a women song. Don't ask me the title or how it went as it was at 1:30 in the morning. But I still found myself laughing.

Dude - Did you just start another topic when you could have posted on the other Concords one?  Bert's gonna have a cow!

From: NickNick Entered on: October 25, 2007 9:07 AM
Well, I was having a difficult moment and couldn't figure out how to go back and retrieve the prior topic. Hopefully Bert doesn't have the cow all in one sitting. That would be dangerous to his health.

Nah, it's totally cool.  I figure we do too much of the "commenting on old posts" kind of thing anyway.  Bring on the new entries, I say.

From: NickNick Entered on: October 25, 2007 9:45 AM
See Jack. Nah nah nah nah. I didn't get in trouble.

From: Jackzilla Entered on: October 25, 2007 10:09 AM

Dude - You're just lucky that Bert has softened up so much since becoming a papa.  There was a time where you're entrails would be spewed out on the keyboard for such an offense.

God, how I miss the old Bert.

Hahaha, wow, I didn't realize what a bastard I was (am).  I also thought I tried to be more of a steward of this site than an overlord - sure, I'd rag on Crockett for posting gratuitous girly pictures, but I never barred anyone from doing anything, I don't think.  Did I?  Am I really such a tyrant?

I'd like to think my tongue would be just as sharp if I didn't operate this site and I'm not drunk on my own power.  A little buzzed, maybe...

Speaking of Flight of the Concords, Zills and I have started to reference the Business Time song fairly frequently. It seems especially fitting with our terminology for "times." The mention of "business socks" in the song has spawned a phrase that I like to use once in a while. "Full Business Attire" - which of course is pretty much being nude and ready for business time.

From: Ross Entered on: October 25, 2007 10:19 AM
That's pretty fucking funny.  I like it.

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 10:22 AM
I hear stories of Ross flipping out a lot, but I've yet to witness it.  Even spending a whole weekend in his presence didn't allow me to view an outburst.  I imagine the rumors of his ill-temper are greatly exagerated.

Well, perhaps on that score Zilla is correct, then.  I have definitely been known to have a temper - the infamous Rainbow Six Vegas: The Johnnybells Altercation is one of the more recent (albeit not that recent) examples.

So while rumors of my temper IMO have been exaggerated for dramatic effect at times, that doesn't mean they're not largely true.   I recognize this character flaw and have been trying to curb it over the years, with varying degrees of success.  Hopefully, as Jack says, my recent fatherhood speeds the mellowing process along.

Even so, I hope my original point stands: even if I sometimes give someone a lashing for something I object to, I don't want you guys to think this isn't your site too.  Granted, it's my brainchild and I devote my time (and to some extent money) to keeping it running, but it wouldn't exist without you guys, so you're collectively more important than I am.  So I really hope you don't feel like you have to tiptoe around, taking care not to piss me off for fear I ban you.

Hell, I didn't even ban Morpheus or Neo.  Read those links if you want to see some tempers flare - and here's a hint: they ain't mine! :)

Rad, what is the correct terminology for "Business Times" that include you sporting the Captain America suit?

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:17 PM
Well, I haven't gone down that road yet, but I should think of a term so I'll be prepeared. I'm leaning towards "America's Past-time." Now if I could get her to wear the Supergirl costume she has borrowed from Jack...

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:20 PM
What about "Justice League Time"? Then you can mix and match characters....

From: NickNick Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:21 PM
Sounds like Bunky's interested in having some "Business Times" with Captain Ameri-Rad. Ross you temper doesn't get any better with fatherhood. You just find a way to focus it and control. Usually, instead of exploding, you just internalize and convert it into stomache ulcers and back spasms. Trust me. Take it from a pro.

You are so naughty Nick Nick!

What about "Super-Friends (with benefits) Times."

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:28 PM
I do have a friend that is getting married in December.... Maybe we could hire Rad to show up at the bachorlette party in the suit and dance for us... We all have good jobs, so the tips would be pretty sweet... Thanks for bring it to this level Nick Nick?

Wait a minute.  I don't want Rad stealing any of my bottom-bunk time!  Bunky, I was the original Fat'n A.  As this photo illustrates:

http://www.jackassery.com/photos.jsp?id=238

Zilla even has a pic or two of me putting Rad through some training.  But, I have yet to see Rad in costume.  Did he have what it takes to fill up the costume (*Ahm*)?  Is he the new Dark Knight to my 1950s era Batman?  Zilla, I want a comparison!  Who should have the honor of wearing the costume?  We all know that Capt'n A gets to be Tappin' A!  Even in that costume.  Zilla, put a couple of Capt'n Fatty and Capt'n Rad in the Flickr Pool.

Bunky - you be the judge!

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:43 PM
There's a comparison that was made here: http://www.jackassery.com/photo/250/#3003 but I'm sure there's better pictures floating arround to help the decision.

From: BigFatty Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:44 PM

Oh - and there are no exaggerations with Ross' temper.  I've seen many a blow-up, but never have seen a full blown melt-down.  It is true that Ross is much better at getting things under control.  I witnessed this recently when our hamburger adventure went horribly wrong!  Read the details here:

http://www.jackassery.com/news/411/#6243

Nick Nick - I think you were saved only because Ross is not on his period ;)  Watch it when Aunt Flo comes a visiting!

From: BigFatty Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:47 PM
Yes - that is an unfair comparison.  Your Cap't being all tough and mean (oops, I think I have a wet spot) and my Cap't sitting on a park bench gabbing like a retired old croner!  We need comparable sweet shots!  Zilla - hit the archives when you get home!

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 12:52 PM

Rad has an unfair advantage... I have been charmed by his nice guy persona and taunted by his inner bad boy! This may take some in-depth discussion over XBOX live.....

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 1:05 PM
I know what you're trying to say when you mention in-depth discussions Bunky.  You're really hoping for some Halo diddle times.

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 1:07 PM
See Fatty, Rad already knows me too well! I can't be objective... So is that a yes, Rad?

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 1:17 PM
I've got plans with my other lady tonight, but I might show up later on for a couple rounds. I wouldn't plan on anything before 11:00pm Michigan time. Probably later than that if at all though. Don't worry though Fatty. I won't try to cut in on bottom bunk time.

From: NickNick Entered on: October 25, 2007 1:54 PM
Wow. I leave the page for a little bit and it just explodes.  Don't you all have work to do.  Jeez!!  Rad, you could always share bottom bunk time.  One of you would have to be Bucky though.

Wait, so what are you saying, exactly?  That it's not possible to exaggerate my temper?  Or that no one ever has? Either way, I call bullshit.

From: BigFatty Entered on: October 25, 2007 2:59 PM

No, no..... don't, Rad.  I can see the writing on the wall.  You and Bunky have so much.  It is obvious that her and I will never have Paris.  How can I even compete in the bottom bunk with your school-boy-cherub good-looks and your experienced diddle.  I even have to concede to you on the Cap't A costume.  You certainly look more menacing in the pics I saw.  (Although, I was rolling Cap't style in the white Miata).  Its been a long time coming, but I see it.....

Fatty is out!!!!!!!!!!  Rad is in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, I got one thing to say to you and I think you know what it is......

F the RAD!

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 3:01 PM
Nick Nick this is all your fault. See what you started! You like how I threw down the girl card and blamed you? I am working, just from home today. I did have to leave for a bit to go buy my husband a Captain America suit! Keep starting this crap and you are really going to piss Ross off!!!

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 25, 2007 3:07 PM
To be fair, most of my other Cap pictures are fairly turdy.  I would like to see an action shot of Cap'n Fatty if Zilla still has any from your trial run at his house.  I seem to recall some good ones that time.

From: Bunky Entered on: October 25, 2007 5:19 PM
Rad, you may be too nice for this site....

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 26, 2007 9:40 AM
I've got chinks in my nice guy armor. I may seem nice, but when I find a Bunky in a dark corner on Halo I tend to be a little naughty. I'm only human after all.

From: Bunky Entered on: October 26, 2007 10:30 AM
Yeah, I've seen the video of what happens when I am in a dark corner alone on Halo.... I think I am going to email Bungie and see if they will be willing to swap the Jeep for a Miata on Last Resort in their next update... If Captain America can drive a Miata, then so can my Barbie Pink Spartan!

From: NickNick Entered on: October 26, 2007 10:50 AM
Rad does harber a little demon inside. He's got it under control and it definitely does his bidding. Rather unlike the rest of us who seem to always do the little demon's bidding.

From: BigFatty Entered on: October 27, 2007 11:06 AM
Bunky - I posted a few Cap't Fatty pics in the Flickr pool for you.  Get that cold shower ready.  You'll especially like me giving Rad some prep before a true-life diddle.  I take back my previous thoughts about Rad being better.  The photos speak for themselves!

From: Ross Entered on: October 27, 2007 12:40 PM
Those are some mighty sweet pics, I am laughing out loud...

From: Bunky Entered on: October 28, 2007 4:22 PM
Rad appears to be enjoying the spanking a little too much!!! I am glad I took your advice and started that cold shower before viewing the photos...They're hot!

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 29, 2007 6:59 AM
I knew there were some good action shots Cap'n Fatty.  I had forgotten it was man on man action shots though.  You were pretty sweet in the costume Will.  I concede.

From: NickNick Entered on: October 29, 2007 1:11 PM

I too think that Will makes a more manly Cap'n.  Especially in lou of Josh on the receiving end of the shield.  Bunky is right.  He is enjoying it too much.  That is definitely not fake happiness my friend.  I'm suprised there aren't any tears of joy running down his cheeks..... maybe they're running down the other cheeks.

From: Bunky Entered on: October 29, 2007 1:29 PM

I don't even know if I will be able to use my exercise ball again. Everytime I go to do a sit-up, I am going to visualize Rad and his "give me more Capt. Fatty, I've been naughty" face.

From: Radmobile Entered on: October 29, 2007 1:40 PM
I'd like to say I was only pretending to like it....

From: NickNick Entered on: October 29, 2007 4:35 PM
You'd LIKE to say you were only pretending to like it.... but you can't.   Because you liked it.   From what I've heard, when Fatty was done, you hugged his leg and begged for more.

From: BigFatty Entered on: August 20, 2008 7:21 AM

I came across another Flight of the Concords video.  They guys are F'n funny.  I can't believe the sweet 70's style they are sporting.  OMG!!  You'll love the facial hair, outfits, and the rollerskate moves.
