Well, the JA Summer cruise turned into the Ross-and-Heather-Spring-Break cruise, which we depart for bright and early tomorrow morning for one week. So in my absence, if any site outages occur, it could be a while until they are addressed.
Talk to everyone in a week or so!

Swerb - If I could ever intice you to Budapest.... this is it. August 7-15 is this years Sziget Music Festival. Think of it as a European Woodstock, with international music groups. I believe one of your favs will be here - Tool. Plus many others that you might like.
Maybe you get creative and do an article for the press - on their dime!

I'm back, bitches! Cruise was sweet, will post some pics later, but right now I'm on my way out the door, heading for London this week at work. Will be back online in a day or so.

You know Ross..... Next time you fly all the way over the pond you can save your company some cash, see your friend Fatty on the cheap, plus check out what the slutty fashions are this summer in Budapest.
Dude - I am only a cheap, 2 1/2 hour flight from London - direct. It should cost no more than $200 r/t, usually around $100-$150.
Fly here a Friday night, fly back to London on Sun and then home again on Monday.
Food for thought next time...... Saves your company $$ cuz of the Saturday stay. If you are sweet, you can get them to pay for the Sunday night hotel in London!!
Shit, give me more notice and I could pop out there and have dinner with you one night if you don't dig seeing me in Budapest!

Yeah, sorry about that Fats, I should have thought of that but I had to plan it pretty fast since I was out of town on vacation last week. I definitely wanted to come by and visit but it doesn't look like this was the time to do it. Next time, I promise I'll get my raggedy ass over there!

Thats ok..... Sniff.....Sniff..... I was begining to feel like nobody wanted to see Fatty anymore. Sweet! A Ross in BootyPest! I'll show you the sights and impress you with how to get around in a country without speaking the language! Hint: It involves a hamster and a Scrabble board.

So Stacy and I have officially booked our trip and hotel and everything for San Francisco in June... anybody who's been there, any suggestions about what we should do? I'm thinking a tour of Alcatraz is in order, and Stacy wants to do a wine-country tour ("I'm not drinking any fucking merlot!"), but I'm looking for more ideas...

I was there last Oct. It was a blast. Of course I was there for Navy Fleet week and all the ladies (and homos) were buying me drinks.
I didnt go to alcatraz but it from friends that went - meh. Really, the only thing I did come to think about it was get loaded. Nob hill is pretty cool area. Fishermans Warf. A wine tour would be cool but my friend d that went said it was kinda played out touristy. They still had a good time though. Great restaurants. I hope you dont like keep cash in your bank account because SF is pricey - especially coming from Michigan.

San Fran is a pretty sweet city (for being bullshit, as all big cities are).
My only recommendation is don't share a room with a gender euphoric, drunk Fatty.

I've only been there once, and it was for a convention so I spent most of my time in the conference center. But I did go to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner one night and it was fantastic. We could see Alcatraz from where we ate, but that's as close as I got.
Hey, what would be cool is if Lucasfilm gives tours. That's right outside San Fran, from what I can recall.

Well, on Bert's suggestion, I checked on Lucasfilm, and they don't do tours. Bummer, because I was really excited for a minute there.
Our options for the wine tour are A) rent a car and drive up there and avoid the touristy shit and John doesn't get to drink much because he's driving or B) take the "motorcoach" tour, deal with the touristy shit, and I get toasted. Not much of a choice, if you ask me.

Usually, when the choice is "get toasted" or "not get toasted", I tend to opt for getting toasted. I do share your disdain for overtly touristy shit, though. So really, you could go the do-it-yourself route, have some samples, and then buy the wine and bring it home and get toasted there. Still, you're right, the choices are not great.

I hope that whole San Fran highway problem doesn't fornicate your vacationary processes...
