Xbox 360 Is Sweet
Entered on: April 24, 2006 12:46 PM by Jackzilla
Videogames haven't been discussed here lately, so let's catch up. I've had a 360 since they first launched, but haven't played much on Xbox Live (besides Halo 2) until recently. Now Fatty has a 360 and we're both addicted! The sweet games:
BURNOUT REVENGE - Goes without saying I s'pose. But racing on-line against 5 other people is crazy fun! Angie loves this one too!
FIGHT NIGHT 3 - We've been playing this for a month or so and I played this with Fatty on-line for the first time last night... Super fun! I never got into the earlier versions, but the 360 one is so realistic graphically I can't resist it!
BATTLEFIELD 2 - Again, played this with Fats for the first time last night. Awesome!
So... Bert and Bone: When you gettin' your machines? We gotta take the ZAGNUT global!

Fatty called me up last night to try to entice me with visions of epic warfare in BF2. I've known about how sweet this game was for a while now since it's originally a PC game. But much like MMOs, I haven't picked it up because it suits my tastes to such a degree that it could ruin my life like the succubus that it is.

At times in the past, I could get away with playing Counterstrike every night after work for hours on end a) because I didn't have a woman and b) didn't have any other work to do. Now I have both, so I've relegated myself to playing games that are single-player, and have a well-defined beginning and end. That way, if I have some downtime, I can play through a game and there's always a light at the end of the tunnel as to when I'll be done and have no excuse for getting back to work.

In any case, I'm quite excited to give it a whirl when I'm in GR. That's May 19-22 (but really that Sat/Sun 20/21), so mark your calendars! I have no illusions this time: I'm prepared to get waxed and feel the Jackophany resonanting in my bones....

May 20-21 it is then! And if my calculations are correct, Tom does NOT have his daughters that weekend. So you'll be able to fully enjoy the voluminous and venomous Jackophany without the chastising chortles of "lilgurl."
Also, I have a full understanding of the black hole in your day a videogame addiction can be. I mostly limited myself to a Saturday night or Sunday, but with Fatty having a 360, we'll definately be having some weaknight (note pun) indulgances. At least until I get buried in work or Ang notices me missing from the bed.

BONE! Ok, what's YOUR excuse? You need to get a 360 and Fight Night 3 -- I'm tired of pounding Fatty to the mat every game!

Have you mocked up a new Johnny-look-alike? Watching Roche's fatter alter-ego get knocked out was so humiliating for him, it's one of my fondest memories of the past few years...

I'm too busy penning my memoirs for any XBOX.

Well, when you're done writing The Bone Chronicles, join us on-line. Fatty tied it up last night. We're both 2-2 with Fight Night 3.

Boy, did I have to put up with some whining from Bells last night! We played two games of Fight Night 3 and I beat him both times. Then he started to play Fatty on-line and gave up after being knocked down (I took over and wOOped on Fats!).
Johhny: "I can't play on this side of the screen! ... I can't change my controller set-up! ... Weh, weh, weeeeehhhhhH!"
Yes, this is another post to encourage Bert and Bone to join us on Xbox Live!
From: Ross Entered on: April 27, 2006 4:09 PM
Why couldn't he change his controller setup? I would have to agree that you need to have the setup that you're used to or all your practice goes out the window. I could always be wrong, but Roche plays boxing so goddamn much that it's tough for me to buy him getting whupped by a casual boxer as story without some kind of complication that we're not hearing about...
This jibes of course with my normal experience of Zilla glossing over details that he finds to be unfavorable. :)
(Just figured I'd stick up for the absent Roche)

I can't really justify getting a 360, I hardly play the BoneBox as it is. I wouldn't mind whooping up on people online but I'm stealing wireless internet already and I think it would be a little excessive on my neighbor's bandwidth if I entered the realm of online asswhoopery.

Gosh, Bert, you make it sound like I take some kind of pleasure in getting Roche-Motel all riled up.
Anyways, make sure you rub in how everyone's knocking his ass around the ring the next time you talk. (I can hear him now: "Let's see what happens outside of the game!").
As for Bone - I'm tiring of your endless excuses for not getting on Live. If wooping on Roche-Monster and Burnout racing against me and Fat-sation isn't enough, then... FUCK! You're just gonna leave us to our own devices against the 12-year-old pre-pubes on-line!? AAghhhhh!

Hmm... that about sums it up, yeah. :)
And how have I never thought of Roche-Motel before? That's sweet evil genius...

Jackzilla, Radmobile, Natron and Wonderboy will be laying the smackdown on Live tonight.  Probably some Gears and Halo 3.

Ramshackleton, Bunky, Edge... you've been warned!

From: Bunky Entered on: March 14, 2008 2:21 PM

Great... My kids are gone this weekend and I am supposed to be going to a movie with the husband...

I will probably be on around 8 pm your time for awhile...

What are you doing on Rock Band right now Zilla and why does Natron's 360 motto say "trust no one"?

From: Radmobile Entered on: March 14, 2008 2:27 PM

Oh boy!  I think someone's playing RockBand at Jack's house without his permission.  Someone's in trouble......

From: Jackzilla Entered on: March 14, 2008 3:07 PM

"trust no one" indeed!

From: Ross Entered on: March 14, 2008 4:07 PM

I may attend!  We'll see what I can finagle...

Ramshackles and AnalSpider - Thanks for making a showing in Gears.  I can't wait for GEAR 2 in the fall!

Creeko - I wonder if all the celestial bodies of the universe will ever align in such a way that you could play a game with us.

Bone - GOT 360?  It does a body good.

From: Bunky Entered on: March 15, 2008 10:11 AM

FUN TIMES (TM) indeed! I was sad I had to cut out on Gears in the midst of battle with Rad... I only got to activate one of the wonder twin powers and then I saw the husband walking up towards the door from the window. Who did I take out mid-diddle with my shotgun? I didn't even get to gloat afterwards...

Thanks for starting the game when I was trying to leave Zilla!

I think I have finally overcome Rad being Bunky kryptonite and am ready for a Rad McClanahan - Bunky Gears rematch!

Did you ever get Natron to stop flinging the cake batter? He was spending a little too much time in the kitchen if you ask me.....

Bone may get a 360 for the mere mention of AnalSpiders... They make him hernie....

From: Radmobile Entered on: March 17, 2008 6:19 AM

It was Wonder and I doing some tag team diddling.  Wonder was the one you took out though.  I had a good time.

After you left Jack and I started doing our mustache twirler voices.  The no way to describe it in writing.  You'll just have to hear it next time. It probably wasn't funny to anyone but us.  It was especially useful in preventing the other team from gloating after we lost a round.

From: NickNick Entered on: March 17, 2008 7:13 AM

Did they get a chance to say anything?? I think maybe heard a shut up muttered once or twice.

From: NickNick Entered on: March 17, 2008 7:19 AM

And one other thing.  Wonder Twin Powers, Lactivate!!

From: Bunky Entered on: March 17, 2008 9:33 AM

Never underestimate the wonder twin powers... The sound mishap I suffered later in the evening was unfortunate....

However, I did get to enjoy Natron shouting out "That Bitch" after a sweet melee to the back of his head followed by some wonder twin powers love when he thought I couldn't hear him...
