Dammit! What does it take to get some decent programming from Fox? They're almost as bad as MTV when it comes to realizing a good thing when they've got it!

The problem is - Arrested Dev is not one of those sweet reality shows. You know, the ones with the washed up or psuedo-celebrity. My favorite are the ultra-rich whose egos demand that they are interesting enough to have their own shows (Hilton, Trump, Stewart...) OK, there is one show that seems to have the right formula but the wrong channel. The Girl Next Store is about some Playmates in the Playboy Mansion. Its all good except the nude scenes involve the fuzzy picture police. BASTARDS! At least make the unedited version available!
Good shows are being replaced by mind numbing reality crap. You don't need writers for those shows and obviously talent is not a prerequisite. This brings down production costs. Shit, I'll put a camera in my boxer-briefs. With no story and the acting abilities of my wang, FOX will surely pick up this fresh new show!

I saw an ad for a reality show on Fox - Wife Swap? - today where a giant 300lb skank from hell screamed "she's not a Christian!" That was almost enough to make me want to tune in. Alas, my streak of no reality TV is going pretty strong, I don't feel like breaking it, even for a spectacle such as that.

The stupid thing is, there isn't a more misleading label than "reality TV." It's all staged and edited for maximum drama. I recently had to sit through an episode of The Apprentice for work reasons (don't ask), and it was sheer torture... not only because Donald Trump is one of the most annoying human beings alive, but also because it's so relentlessly phony, all the way down to the cheesy music. Pure tripe.
The one hope is that Arrested Development will be picked up by a cable network... if I was the show's producer, I'd lobby heavily to HBO to grab it. Wishful thinking...
