Check it out guys:

The guys at TechLore have been working with these guys on building their community internet presence. Their product is super-sweet, and it's finally being released this week to the public.

Get this: whereas Tivo performs "timeshifting" - being able to watch TV WHENever you want, this thing perorms "placeshifting" - watching TV WHEREVER you want. It hooks up to your home entertainment system and your home network. So from any computer that you have installed their client software on, you can manipulate your home TV (this works best for homes with Tivo, really).

So the real benefit in my mind is that you can watch your recorded programs from ANYWHERE, even over the internet! I could be at work, browsing my tivo listsings and firing up the latest Mythbusters. There is no limit to the amount of screwing off I could do with this device.

Okay, I found something that is sweeter (to me) than the Slingbox:

www.orb.com

Using this software, which you install on one of your home PCs, you can access your videos, photos, or music from anywhere, over the web. It even amazingly seems to not need any special firewall settings, it just works out of the box.

What's cool is that, say Jack, at work, can view any of his downloaded TV shows that are living on his home PCs (sorry, no xbox support that I know of). I'm using it now at work and it's super sweet!
