Sweet! And they actually have Xbox executables to download (Woah!). I wonder when MicroSoft will come knocking on THEIR door?

Tony - Did you get your chip yet? My buddy got his Monday (ordered it 3 weeks ago) and mine shipped out today (ordered a week or so ago).

From: blacfrost Entered on: May 1, 2003 12:29 AM
well its my site so hopefully i wont get nailed for it.. but im sure its only a matter of time till it happens. :)

Get the shiz-nit while you can!!

I ordered my fucking chip almost a month ago. They shipped it on the 22nd. I still don't have it. My growing suspicion is Kristen intercepted it in the mail and destroyed it in an attempt to prevent me from sitting around all day and playing video games.

From: Ross Entered on: May 1, 2003 9:04 AM
Who did you order it from? I ordered a Matrix from easybuy2000 and the next day they were raided by the FCC or somebody because of some suspect satellite TV equipment sales. Then fully *2 months* later they send me an email telling me my order shipped. I was livid... I told them I wanted to return it, how did they expect me to want something after I never heard squat, even after calling them repeatedly with no answer? They said that I'd have to call for an RMA number, but then Fatty offered for me to sell it to Bad Andy, so I guess it worked out.

In the meantime, though, I ordered an Executor 2 Lite from a place that wasn't far from Chicago, got it in 2 days, popped it in, and I'm loving it. Granted, I did have to solder it, and one point was kind of a mofo to get in, but it was great and I don't fear the contacts getting loose like those no-solder chips. Even this one has pins to adapt itself into a no-solder version.

Creeko, aren't you thinking about joining our ranks too?

Oh, and Blacfrost: cool site. I will keep checking it out. Who's in charge of putting new files on the site? Can users do it or is it just you?

From: The Bone Entered on: May 1, 2003 1:11 PM
I ordered my shit from easybuy2000 as well. I think they are based in Canada because on the order tracker it said it was shipped via Canadian Post. Hopefully it didn't run into any trouble clearing customs. At any rate, I can't install it untill Zilla and Fatty send my the CD with the shit I need to make it work as I have no technical abilities on my own.

Well as of right now.. only I can really upload stuff. Im workin on an addon that works with php for uploading. If any of you know of a good one let me know. The only problem i have is that the hosting company doesnt allow more than 2mbs to be uploaded at a time. However you ca email it to me if its to big and ill upload it.

Email is xboxlab@xboxlab.com (pretty original eh?)

From: Ross Entered on: May 1, 2003 3:18 PM
I could help you with JSP stuff (what I wrote this site with) but I don't know any PHP, sorry. Good luck, and keep up the good work on it. I haven't checked for it specifically, but if you don't have Avalaunch on there, that's one that people are probably looking to download right now.

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 5, 2003 12:19 AM
Well I got my brother's chip on Saturday. Tony - What up?

This next week Fattie & I will commence modding two more boxes. At that time I can test out my JACKZILLA MODBOX INSTALLER! When all is looking fine and dandy, said program will be sent out to Hawaii.

Of course, T-Bone still needs the chip.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 5, 2003 1:24 AM
The motherfuckers at easybuy2000 said the chip was sent on the 22nd. Who did you buy your chip from? Looks like I'm going to have to write this one off and order from another source. That's ok though. I'm going to shoot a SLAM missile through their front fucking window, those sons of bitches.

From: Creeko Entered on: May 5, 2003 3:19 AM
As a matter of fact, I have joined the club! I am now the proud owner of a life sucking X-box. Dose anyone know if the Euro edition X-box differs from the american for mod chips? I know the video out is PAL as opposed to NTSC. I hope to have it on line shortly. I look forward to getting my ass kicked thoroughly.

From: Ross Entered on: May 5, 2003 7:06 AM
I do not think there is any difference, Creeko. As it is, I can play PAL games on mine, so don't think there's much difference at all.

From: Creeko Entered on: May 5, 2003 8:58 AM
Will -

Do you posses the power to mod? If so, bring the goods when you come to Spain. I want the works!!!

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 5, 2003 9:44 AM
Bone -

I bought from easybuy2000... Fast shipment both times I ordered (under one week the first time and about two weeks the second)...

Please don't hate me cuz I'm beautiful.

From: Ross Entered on: May 5, 2003 10:47 AM
You're outnumbered on this one, Zilla. EasyBuy sucks. 2-1.

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 5, 2003 11:39 AM
Has anyone tried MODS4LESS.COM? They actually have the chip a little cheaper.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 6, 2003 9:06 PM
Holy fucking shit! Those fuzzy foreigners at easybuy2000 finally came through. I just received my Matrix chip today. Only took a month. Zilla, Fatty - what do I do now?

From: blacfrost Entered on: May 9, 2003 5:14 AM
Hey jsut to let you guys know.. i finally got a few copies of the AvaLaunch prog for the Xbox. You may wanna check it out. I have 2 builds of it, Build39 and Build 43. Let me know what you think.

From: Ross Entered on: May 9, 2003 8:00 AM
So Bone, have you started the modding process yet?

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 9, 2003 9:10 AM
Well I picked up another box (and harddrive) last night (this will become the DUKBOX for my OTHER brother). Big Fatty's powers grow each day. This one literally took him 5-10 minutes TOTAL to mod. That's including the harddrive. The power of the force is strong with this one indeed.

Now my work begins... the building of the BONEBOX! So Bone, we hope to get the BONEBOX HDD mailed out to you next week. Fatty will be in touch regarding financing.

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 9, 2003 9:14 AM
Blacfrost - I've already upgraded to Avalaunch v.44.2 a couple days ago. I'll keep an eye on your site though! Regarding Avalaunch: This thing is getting sweet! I can see moving over to this as my main dashboard in the future... I like being able to play an MP3 in the background.

From: Ross Entered on: May 9, 2003 9:18 AM
I haven't played with it yet, but how do you get the MP3 as background music? Can you configure it thru Avalaunch itself, or do you have to write a config file and ftp it to the xbox, ala Evox?

Speaking of xbox - I seem to be the only one who doesn't have Blood Omen 2. Can I "borrow" that one from you next time I'm in town, JZ?

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 9, 2003 3:13 PM
Ross -
Yes, Avalaunch now has a config file. Just edit it like you would an evox.ini. It lets you customize some of the menus too. There's a spot to indicate where the background MP3 is. Skinning is basically changing the default JPG but more is coming all the time!

You can definately borrow BO2 from me. I haven't played it yet, but I know Tony & John's had some fun with it. I picked up Burnout 2 (the BEST racer EVER!) and the Wolverine game last night. My list of x-titles is ridiculous. I'll have to e-mail it to you. It's in the 120+ range now. When are you gonna be in town again? I'm cravin' me some Big-N-Tasty warthog squishin'.

Have you played Wolfenstein yet? It's out! 2-player co-op and full-screen System Linkable... yummy! Can't wait! Then Matrix next week... Brute Force...

<insert noise of Homer Simpson rolling around the floor with his mouth open here>

From: Ross Entered on: May 9, 2003 3:57 PM
I'm getting Matrix now, actually. :) But yeah, I want to get Wolfenstein really badly.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 9, 2003 7:29 PM
I just installed the BIOS on my chip (I think). I ran the LPC program and put on the BIOS Silver that Fatty sent. All indications seemed ok except I really have no way of knowing it worked until I get the HDD installed and I run the box. It's sooo scary dealing with black magic such as this.

From: Ross Entered on: May 9, 2003 8:54 PM
Doesn't the little logo say "Matrix Inside" instead of "Microsoft" when you turn it on? I thought that's what the Matrix chips did, even only when you put a chip in.

From: Jackzilla Entered on: May 9, 2003 9:00 PM
Actually I think it'll boot up and the XBOX logo will be a different color. It will probably try to load evox (which isn't installed on your system yet) and then have an error. Is this true?

From: Ross Entered on: May 10, 2003 12:32 AM
Oh, and I don't know exactly when I'll be coming to GR next. Certainly if the Bone makes it, I will put in a cameo appearance. I would love to partake in some Halo ass whuppery on another uninitiated player. Just call me the Bone Saw!

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 12:42 AM
You forget, not only have I vast experience as a solo player, I spent many months of a deployment playing multi-player against a numerous skilled foes. You remember how it was when you guys went up against players over the internet? That's whats going to happen when when your myopic little world of Halo gets expanded by The Bone. I will bring swift and precise order to your clusterfuck.

From: Ross Entered on: May 10, 2003 1:08 AM
All I have to say is.... Bone Saw is read-eee! I wasn't there to claim how my skills were with people on the net in Halo (so I didn't have a chance to run home to mommy like Fatty), but rest assured that I have cut my teeth on more first-person shooters than anyone here, and have been playing online for more than 5 years. I was a master at the best online game of all time, Counter-Strike. I've made grown men cry with my taunts of disdain. Just to add insult to injury, even though they don't deserve it, I will make mention of the time that Jack, John, and Will went up against me all at once in Timesplitters (which John of course will correct me as Timeshitters) and they killed me once to my 10. I literally killed them all while they were attacking me simultaneously at one point. I'm sorry to bring that one up, guys, but I'm presenting credentials, here...

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 3:06 AM
Those are pretty impresive credentials. Mainly, I'm allowing for the fact that you will have Fatty on your team to fornicate your process and produce a negative cumulative effect. However, if it takes sheer force of sweetness on my part - so be it.

From: Ross Entered on: May 10, 2003 9:20 AM
Fair enough. I did assume you were totally green, so I won't assume you're a pushover. So are you going to make it to GR or not, anyway?

From: John Entered on: May 10, 2003 10:49 AM
Fatty is a formidable foe when it comes to Halo. Whithin our ranks he usually scores in the upper echelon believe it or not. You would do well to have him on your team. To underestimate the Fatty would be misguided indeed.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 11:29 AM
I've been gaming with Fatty for years and years. Of course he has skills. He has learned much during the time he spent watching my style. No wonder he scores so well amongst your ranks. He's been formally educated by "The School of Wu Tang Bone". If you like, I'll give you some free lessons too, Roche.

From: Ross Entered on: May 10, 2003 11:31 AM
I must give credit where credit is due: The Bone has retained a mastery of the old-school cutting ways. Simultaneously bringing yourself up while cutting down your opponent. Well played!

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 11:48 AM
Thank you. It's part of the curriculum at "The School of Wu Tang Bone".

From: John Entered on: May 10, 2003 11:51 AM
The Bone may be shocked to discover his game corpes being violated and then smacked around like a little bitch. So bring on the Bone, he may even get one in the ass.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 12:15 PM
I notice that throughout the posts, whenever Roche is flustered he falls back on the term "little bitch" and relies heavily on profanity and aggressive statements. At "The School of Wu Tang Bone", I can teach you to remain calm, cool, and collected when confronting adversaries.

From: John Entered on: May 10, 2003 12:29 PM
I come from the old school of "ass whup koon do", you should give it a try.

From: John Entered on: May 10, 2003 12:30 PM
Oh, I almost forgot, "you little bitch".

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 1:00 PM
Your mind is clouded by anger causing your retorts to seem clumsy like a drunk bar brawler swinging away at the air. I know you better though, and you are capable of much more. Certainly you must not use this rudimentary technique against the like of Murphus or Neo as you have been. That style may work in person where brawn can back it up, however over the internet, the threat of force has no effect and reduces you to a mindless animal.

Although it may seem harsh, this lesson has been for your benefit and once you've mastered the sweet style of internet sparring, you will thank me.

From: John Entered on: May 10, 2003 1:06 PM
Hmm, Thanks for imparting your infinte wisom on this subject, Bone. The anger is already begining to wash away. No longer will I relegate myself to the rudimentary technique of the bar room brawler I once was. Hopefully in the future I can live up to my full potential. Thanks for edifying me in the ways of internet sparring.

From: The Bone Entered on: May 10, 2003 1:07 PM
No problem. That's what friends are for.

From: Creeko Entered on: June 2, 2003 9:26 AM
Once I have the mod-chip installed, dose anyone know if I'll be able to watch Zone 1 DVD's? Spain is a Zone 2 and the "good" sound tracks (ie. DTS) are reserved for Spanish.

From: Ross Entered on: June 2, 2003 9:39 AM
Yes, you can. It lets you play PAL movies/games on an NTSC box and vice-versa, and removes regional restrictions.
