Sweetest, real conversation ever!
Entered on: February 17, 2004 11:26 AM by BigFatty
My friend Nate had his Credit Card shut off when he was over here. He called his company and this is a part of the conversation.

Lady: Each time you use the card in France, you will need the shop-owner to call the number on the back to verify the transaction.

Nate: Thats not going to work. I just can't have them hold up the line every time at the grocery while they call into you. On top of that, they don't speak English here.

Lady: What country are you in?

Nate: France (The lady already knew this!)

Lady: What language do they speak there?

Nate: Um, French.

Lady: Thats OK, we have a Spanish interpeter here to take the call.

I need to know who this credit card is through so I can make a note to never do business with them. Holy crap, that's new levels of stupidity!

I just asked. Shit, no wonder! He has Aspire Visa. What kind of outfit is that! They need to Aspire to Rand McNally!

That's some funny shit, Fatty!

My Credit Card Story: I just had to cancel one of my credit cards because someone was trying to use my card number to order a thousand bucks worth of Nordstrom's shit and ship it to Florida. The merchant called the credit card people because the name and address didn't match the card number, they in turn contacted me. I assume this creep just tried a random bunch of numbers and I was the lucky winner (since he didn't have any of my personal info). What's the chances of that? Shit! I shoulda been playing the LOTTO!

One of my worst customer service stories involves AMAZON.COM. They shipped us a $90 DVD set we didn't order back in September and we're STILL trying to sort this out and get my credit card credited back. AMAZON.COM = WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! First, you can't talk to anyone, it's all through e-mail. And then they either ignore your e-mails or don't do what they say they will (for instance, they shipped us a 2nd DVD set, when we wanted to send the first one back!). Stay away from Amazon, kids.

Yeah, I ordered a DVD from Amazon a long time ago, and they shipped it to me, and it was loose in the case and scratched. Not badly, but hell, you pay for something brand new, you don't want it all scuffed up, y'know? So I write to have them send me a new one, and they waffle on it forever... come to find out, they sent me the DVD well before its street date, and they wouldn't send me another. So I told 'em I wanted a refund, so they credited my credit card and told me via e-mail that they'd send me a postage-paid mailer so I could send it back. That was about 4 years ago. By the way, the DVD works fine, and it ended up being free. But it still took several weeks to sort out...

Yeah, I was hoping to at least keep one of the extra DVD sets they sent me to sell on ebay for my trouble, but no luck... They want it back. Dip shits.

I've never had a problem with them, and I've been using them for years. I even have an Amazon credit card and get gift certificates for spending X amount every so often.

What my buddy Fregly suggests for returning things from them is to buy the same item at Best Buy, and return the defective Amazon item. I've never actually had anything defective from them, though, so I can't comment on this procedure. He seems to do it all the time though.
