Halo is out for the PC

The PC version Halo has gone gold (meaning the final release product is finished and it is ready to be pressed at the factory) and I plan to have it soon. I will give a full report and let you guys know how it stacks up against the Xbox version. Maybe I'll even figure out how to take a screenshot and post some here.

Well, I've got it, and I have one word: SLUGGISH! I have a pretty fast computer, and this thing runs like a dog! It is only playable (and barely so) at resolutions of 640x480, the lowest setting, which is not really much better than Xbox resolution anyway. I'm very disappointed...

The good review I read could still very well be on target. He must have just had a much more powerful computer than me, though. I am unable to tell anything with mine.

Well, it still sucks, you were really looking forward to a sweet time with Halo. What a let down.

I doubt anyone really cares, but I recently upgraded the video card on my main gaming PC since I discovered that it was not as sweet as I once thought. I doubled my 3D benchmark scores after the upgrade, so I decided to reinstall Halo. I am pleased to say that it is running smoothly and is every bit the equal or superior of its Xbox cousin.

Ah, that's good to hear. Nobody wants to hear about Halo running poorly, it just won't do.
